Supreme Chemicals formerly Bunny Products was conceived and realized in 1972, when it made its entrance into the manufacturing industry with two products, namely eucalyptus oil and oil of wintergreen. The company embarked on a mission to manufacture “over the counter” (OTC) pharmaceutical products which were then only imported from overseas. Bunny Products was incorporated as a limited liability company on November 13, 1974, and was the first local manufacturer of several (OTC) skin ointments and creams that were used mostly by the poorest in the society. These were manufactured at the same international standard but were now available at lower prices. Bunny Products became well known for its high quality and affordability. In fact, so much emphasis was placed on these two features, that a product would not be manufactured if it could not be done more economically than available brands. The company also received an international award for quality in Miami Florida.
In 1981 the company diversified its business line with the production of household and industrial cleaning chemicals, and thereby had a change of name to Supreme Chemicals Ltd., reflecting the type of business operation. In 1987 the pharmaceutical product line was extended into the manufacturing of generic drugs that would help to make prescription drugs more affordable to the poorest in the society, these were manufactured under the Barrie Pharmaceuticals label which is a sister company established primarily for the purpose.
In the year 2003, the company took advantage of a viable investment opportunity and diversified the business line, with the inclusion of McLas Foods, which manufactures food flavourings and syrups.
Today, Supreme Chemicals continues to increase the range of products offered, to satisfy the needs of the domestic market, while it seeks to capitalize on its high international quality and brand Jamaica in the overseas market. The Company remains committed to the manufacturing of high quality products at affordable prices and is dedicated to ensuring that consumers receive high levels of service
